THE ENTERPRISE

ARTIST'S RENDERING - Michael Moss spent Saturday painting a rundown house on Route 138 in Easton. Moss says he has passed the home many times over the last few years but the urge to paint it just happened to come to him Saturday. Moss enjoys painting still-life objects and plans to put on a show with a theme about man and nature and how they interact.

BOSTON SUNDAY GLOBE

PEOPLE & PLACES - South Shore artist Michael Moss demonstrating his en plein air technique in an ice cold wind last weekend at Damon's Point in Marshfield.

"Ideally, the romantic way to paint is to be out on site, on location," Moss said. "A lot of modern painters use photographs. I don't believe that. I think you have to be there and experience [the scene] at its fullest."
